Mürren is a village in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, situated on a terrace on the western side of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The village is located at around 1,640 metres above sea level and approximately 800 metres above the valley floor of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. From here, Mürren faces the Jungfrau, Mönch and Eiger; Birg and Schilthorn rise above the village.

History and Village Character
Mürren was first recorded in 1257 under the name Mons Murren. It is considered likely that the area was used as alpine pasture before being settled by immigrants from the Lötschental shortly after 1300.
Mürren is regarded as a traditional Walser mountain village. The village features both a Reformed church and a Roman Catholic church. It is car-free and cannot be reached via a public road.
Hiking and Trails
Mürren is associated with hiking in summer; numerous hikes are said to be connected to the village, including 200 kilometres of hiking trails. Mürren is also associated with Schilthorn. The North Face Trail is a themed trail that provides historical information about mountaineering in Mürren.
