Culture and History
The Church of the Most Holy Trinity was built between 1574 and 1580 in the Renaissance style as a single-nave building with a polygonal presbytery. Its furnishings include a pulpit from the second half of the 17th century.
The Chapel of the Holy Stairs was built on the orders of Pavol Pálffy together with the monastery. Inside, there are 27 steps containing relics of Saints Deterius, Valentinus and Beatrix.
The Franciscan Church of the Immaculate Conception dates from 1653; its high altar was created in 1720. The synagogue in Malacky was built in the Moorish style. It retains richly decorated stucco, a Torah ark and a niche for storing Torah scrolls. Visits are possible with a guided tour by prior arrangement through the primary school of arts.
The château in Malacky was built in 1624 and remodelled in the Classicist style in 1808. It is surrounded by an extensive English park with rare trees.
Events
Every year in May, the Múzeum Michala Tillnera takes part in the Noc múzeí event. The Historical Walks through Malacky take place irregularly, usually five or six times a year. Recurring cultural events in Malacky also include Malacká hudobná jar.
Getting There
Malacky is served by the railway connection on route 110. Connections run via Břeclav, Kúty and Bratislava, as well as via Marchegg and Devínska Nová Ves.
Geographical Setting
Malacky lies in the centre of the southern part of the Záhorská nížina. The Morava flows west of the town, while the Little Carpathians extend to the east.

The mountains of Kráľovy Vrch, Mešťanková, Vysoká and Smelech are located in the vicinity of Malacky.
