The Kotmanovské Waterfalls are cascades on the Vrbinský Stream below Pohanský hrad. From the edge of Kotmanová, a hike exclusively to the Kotmanovské Waterfalls can be completed in 3 to 5 hours. The route initially follows a red-marked hiking trail and then continues along the stream; along the way, hikers must cross fallen tree trunks and climb along the slopes beside the cascades. A forest path running parallel to the stream leads along the foot of Pohanský hrad and is recommended as an option for less experienced hikers.
Culture
The historical references range from the Bronze Age to the more recent history of the village. Pohanský hrad is a fortified settlement of the Kyjatice culture with several ramparts dating from 1100 to 700 BC. During the Bronze Age, Pohanský hrad served as a refuge for the people of the Kyjatice culture. The village landscape also features the bell tower of Kotmanová, which dates from the early 19th century and was built on the site of an earlier wooden bell tower. Its fittings also bear their own marks of the period: the small bell in the bell tower of Kotmanová was cast in Budapest in 1888, while the large bell was cast in Brno in 1923. Kotmanová is also home to a Neoclassical kúria dating from the late 18th century.
