Nature

A 3.5-kilometre-long educational trail with nine information panels leads to the Bystrô waterfall in Hriňová. An educational trail also runs from Hriňová to the Bystrý potok waterfall via Bystré and Vrátka, through the valley along the Bystrý potok to the waterfall. This route is suitable for families with children.

The panoramic viewpoints in Hriňová offer views of the Hriňovské lazy, the surrounding valleys, fields and mountains. In 2015, an expansion of the transition zone of the Poľana Biosphere Reserve to include the so-called hriňovské lazy was proposed.

The nature-oriented infrastructure also includes the Javorinka tourist shelter. It is open to everyone around the clock and free of charge.

Culture

The Hriňová Calvary comprises fourteen stations; the twelfth station consists of three crosses above the town centre. The wooden crosses found mainly near crossroads in Hriňová bear witness to the skill of local woodcarvers. They are predominantly made of oak and richly decorated with ornamental, sacred, Old Slavic, floral and figurative motifs.

The Church of St Peter and Paul was consecrated and completed on 8 September 1947 by Bishop Dr Andrej Škrábik. The annual cultural programme in Hriňová includes the Gazdovanie na Hriňovských lazoch event in August.

The Hriňovská drevenica Štefana Nosáľa is a historic building with an exhibition intended to focus on the history, traditions and present-day life of the town. The exhibition is dedicated mainly to Professor Štefan Nosáľ (1927–2017), who came from Hriňová and was the artistic director of the Lúčnica ensemble.

The Hriňovská drevenica Štefana Nosáľa was opened to the public on 16 August 2019. Visitors should contact the Hriňová Tourist Information Centre.
