Geographical Location
Zachełmie is located in Lower Silesia, in Jeleniogórski County and the Podgórzyn municipality, at an altitude of approximately 500 metres above sea level. The village lies along the corridor of Voivodeship Road 366 between Sobieszów and Podgórzyn.

Cherry orchards are a recurring feature of Zachełmie’s local landscape. A listed hiking route connects Zachełmie with Podgórzyn Górny over 2.3 kilometres; the stated walking time is 35 minutes.

Culture
Zachełmie developed from a shepherd settlement founded after the Thirty Years’ War. Later local traditions included embroidered shirts and a distinctive men’s costume. The local embroidery tradition in Zachełmie was revived from 2008 onwards using historical patterns.
