Waterfalls and Land Art in Pedemonte
The Sentieri delle Cascate project comprises signposted hiking trails and three circular hikes leading to waterfalls and points of interest in Pedemonte. The Sentieri delle Cascate are a network of circular trails in Pedemonte that take hikers and families to places of particular scenic appeal. The starting point is at the car park of the former town hall in the Longhi district of Pedemonte.

One of the notable works at the site is Il Nido di Pedemonte, an immersive wooden land-art work by Marco Martalar. Guided tours of Il Nido di Pedemonte can be booked through the Associazione OGD Pedemontana Veneta e Colli.
Historic Trails and Forte Belvedere
Hiking trail 595, Via dell’Ancino, follows a medieval road. This road connected Val d’Astico with Caldonazzo and Trento.
Forte Belvedere is an imposing structure that has been converted into a museum about the First World War. Hiking trail 597 leads from Brancafora di Pedemonte to Forte Belvedere. The two details identify separate points of reference for orientation between the course of the trail and the historic structure.
Other Routes in Val d’Astico
Hiking trail 605 runs along the foothills of Belfiore and rocky crags in upper Val d’Astico. In upper Val d’Astico, trails run along mountain slopes and also as far as the regional boundary.
Hiking trail 598 leads from Valle di Rio Torto at the regional boundary to Eck delle Albarele at the regional boundary. Hiking trail 599 leads from Ponte Rio Torto via Capitello Sella del Cavallo to the regional boundary.
Hiking trail 601 leads from Scalzeri di Pedemonte to Luserna. Hiking trail 611 leads from Casotto to Malga Croiere. Each of the two routes is defined by its own starting point and destination.
La Strada de la Riva is a hiking trail in the Pedemonte area. It runs along the eastern mountain slopes and passes through four particularly characteristic contrade of the area. The route does not automatically connect to other trails; instead, it independently describes the eastern mountain slopes and the four districts.
Churches, Tree and Mountain Stream
The church of Brancafora once served all the farms in the rear Val d’Astico and partly those on the plateau. At that time, it was the only church in the area.
The church of Casotto and the adjacent small cemetery are associated with the year 1748. Restoration took place in 1920. At Malga Laghetto there is also the Avez del Prinzep, considered to be Europe’s largest fir tree.
The waters of the Astico mountain stream are well known among anglers. The grotto can be reached via a path that begins at the village pharmacy.
