Between the Brenta and the mountain area

The mountain area of Campolongo sul Brenta reaches an elevation of 1,200 m. Nature and educational trails cross centuries-old forests there; the mountain area also includes traditional mountain huts used for livestock grazing. The Antonia Dal Sasso nature trail area features old tobacco terraces, small valleys, springs, hay meadows and a remarkable abundance of flowers.

Hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty

The Alta Via del Tabacco covers 9 km on the section from Valstagna to Campolongo, with an elevation gain of 700 m, and takes approximately 3 hours. The Alta Via del Tabacco is also known as the “Museo Diffuso Alta Via del Tabacco” and connects higher-altitude settlements and tobacco terraces.

The Alta Via del Tabacco can be divided into three sections. Each of these sections can be made into a circular route by descending into the valley and returning to the starting point along the Brenta River. The Antonia Dal Sasso nature trail is intended for school classes and interested groups who want to learn about natural phenomena and the traditional ways in which people have used the Valbrenta.

Cycling route and connection to Campese

A 21 km-long, largely flat cycling route runs through Campolongo and connects several villages in the Brenta Valley. Compared with the Alta Via del Tabacco, it differs above all in its largely flat elevation profile and the means of travel.

The TRODOI TRAILS 14 route runs from Campolongo to Campese. On the return journey, it follows a combined cycle and pedestrian path along the Brenta to the starting point.

Churches, chapels and visible cultural heritage

The Church of Beata Vergine del Carmelo in Campolongo sul Brenta was built between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It has a neoclassical design and two symmetrically arranged Romanesque bell towers. The church in Campolongo is the newest of the seven chapels built in the area of the Campese monastery.

The Church of Madonna del Carmine was begun in 1793 in the neoclassical style, based on designs by the Bassano-born architect Antonio Gaidon. Inside are an altarpiece depicting the Assumption of Mary by Giambattista Canale and a ceiling fresco. There are also wooden sculptures, including a statue of Madonna del Carmine and a crucifix, as well as an original two-part baptismal font made of Asiago stone with a decorated pyramidal cover.

Masses are held at the Church of Madonna del Carmine on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., and on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Brenta experience and announced events program

A rafting trip on the Brenta River covers approximately 10 km from the San Gaetano district to Campolongo sul Brenta.

The Festa in Brenta in Campolongo was announced as a two-weekend program of folkloric, sporting and liturgical events.
