South of Vipiteno lies the parish church of “Nostra Signora della Palude”. It is one of the largest churches in the Alpine region. The parish church houses the Roman funerary stele of Postumia Victorina, a stone burial monument that probably dates from the 2nd or 3rd century AD. This dating places the stele in the Roman period. The altar was created between 1456 and 1459 for the parish church of “Nostra Signora della Palude”. The parish church’s Neo-Gothic high altar still contains five original statues from Multscher’s Gothic altarpiece, which was dismantled in the 18th century. A high altar is the particularly prominent altar in the front section of a church.

Town Hall and Torre delle Dodici

Vipiteno’s town hall has a Gothic council chamber with wood-panelled walls and a ceiling with exposed wooden beams. Museum in the Deutschhaus

The Museo Civico e Museo Multscher houses most of the late Gothic works by the famous Ulm sculptor and painter Hans Multscher. Late Gothic refers to a later form of Gothic art. A museum preserves and presents works of art and historical objects. The Museo Civico e Museo Multscher is housed in the Deutschhaus, the house of the commandery of the Teutonic Order, and is located near the parish church of Vipiteno.

Hiking Trails on Monte Cavallo
