On foot from Varzo to Alpe Veglia
The SI E59 stage of the Sentiero Italia CAI begins on foot in Varzo at an altitude of 573 metres and leads to Alpe Veglia (Cornu). The stage is 16.2 kilometres long. This length gives the hike a clearly defined scope. The route can therefore be included as a separate hiking component in a travel plan.

Downhill runs and getting started at San Domenico Ski
San Domenico Ski has more than 20 kilometres of downhill runs and runs of all difficulty levels. Downhill runs are routes designed for skiing downhill; at San Domenico Ski, the different difficulty levels cover a broad range. San Domenico Ski offers a practice area and ski instructors who enable beginners to take their first steps in skiing gradually. A practice area is an area for taking the first steps; at San Domenico Ski, this introduction is complemented by ski instructors. Those planning for people with different levels of prior experience can regard the slopes, practice area and ski instructors as separate points of reference.

Varzo is one of the municipalities located within Parco Naturale Alpe Veglia. The nature park provides Varzo with its own landscape setting and complements the themes of hiking, winter sports and local history with nature.
The Torre Medioevale in the heart of Varzo
The Torre Medioevale is a solid granite building near the town hall in the heart of Varzo. Its location near the town hall connects the Torre Medioevale spatially with the town centre. The Torre Medioevale already existed in 1300, when Varzo's local statutes were drawn up. Together with other towers in the Ossola area, the Torre Medioevale served as an observation and signal post.
Roman Bridge and Augustan bridge
The Roman Bridge replaced an Augustan bridge destroyed by the flooding of a mountain stream. The remains of the former Augustan bridge are still visible right in the middle of the mountain stream beside the tunnel. The Roman Bridge is a well-preserved arch bridge with cobblestones and is still usable. An arch bridge describes a type of bridge with an arched supporting structure; at the Roman Bridge, the cobblestones are an additional structural feature. The Roman Bridge remains distinguishable as a usable crossing from the visible remains of the former bridge.
Summer Mass at the Oratorio di San Giacomo
At the Oratorio di San Giacomo, the Rosminians celebrate Mass on Sundays in summer during the alpine pasture season for alpine residents and holiday guests. The alpine pasture season refers to the summer period of alpine farming; the service is part of a seasonal religious occasion.
