Cave and Trail Experience
The Grotte del Caudano were discovered in December 1898 during the construction of the reservoir for the Frabosa Sottana hydroelectric power plant. The Grotte del Caudano comprise a large cave richly adorned with calcareous sinter formations, as well as numerous other interconnected chambers. Calcareous sinter formations are mineral deposits that give a cave a distinctive mineral character. The various chambers make the Grotte del Caudano an extensive cave system rather than a single enclosed space.

Seasonally varying opening hours apply to visits to the Grotte del Caudano; advance registration is required. The Sentiero dell'Acqua is a circular trail rated difficulty level E. It begins at the Grotte del Caudano and initially follows the Sentiero Francesco Musso. As a circular trail, the Sentiero dell'Acqua follows a route that returns to its starting point. The route connects the cave area with a signposted hiking trail, without the cave visit and the hike being the same experience.
Forests, High Elevations and Summer Activities
The Frabosa Sottana area includes green chestnut forests. The Frabosa Sottana area extends to over 2,200 metres at Mondolè. The elevation at Mondolè marks a high-altitude area within the region.
In summer, trekking and alpine hiking are possible in Frabosa Sottana. Trekking is generally associated with longer hikes, while alpine hiking involves trails in the high mountains.
Events and Local Traditions
The Fiera di San Giorgio is a traditional event for the patron saint's feast on 23 April; it was resumed in 2006 after a long absence. A patron saint's feast is dedicated to a patron saint. The Fiera di San Giorgio includes a large livestock exhibition with a competition for the best animals, as well as a market for typical local products.
The Galà della Castagna d'Oro is an autumn event held on the second weekend of October in Frabosa Sottana. The Galà della Castagna d'Oro combines mountain culture, gastronomy, folklore, sports and entertainment. The Saturday programme of the Galà della Castagna d'Oro includes stalls and exhibitions of typical products and high-quality handicrafts. Folklore refers to traditional cultural forms of expression; handicrafts are handmade objects. Gastronomy and mountain culture give the event a distinctly regional character.
Museo della Montagna e della sua Gente
The Museo della Montagna e della sua Gente is housed in a restored former school building in the hamlet of Miroglio.
Mondolé Ski and Prato Nevoso
The Mondolé Ski area is accessible from Prato Nevoso, Artesina, Frabosa Soprana and Roccaforte Mondovì. The Prato Nevoso ski area is located at an altitude of 1,500 metres and, together with Artesina and Frabosa Soprana, forms part of the Mondolè Ski area.
