Frescoes and Religious Traditions
The Santuario della Madonna della Pieve was first mentioned in 1041. The interior of the Santuario della Madonna della Pieve is completely decorated with frescoes. The Santuario della Madonna della Pieve is also associated with celebrations during the Marian month and on the Feast of the Ascension.
The Cappella dell’Annunziata dates back to the first years of the 17th century. The frescoes in the Cappella dell’Annunziata dedicated to the Virgin are dated 1611. The fresco cycle in the Cappella dell’Annunziata was restored in 2007 and attributed to Antonio Bodrito. For understanding the site, both the construction period and the dating and restoration of the frescoes are therefore relevant.
The Confraternita di Santa Croce, also known in Beinette as Crusà , dates back to the second half of the 15th century. The present-day building of the Confraternita di Santa Croce dates from the early 17th century. A now-traditional nativity scene exhibition is held in the Confraternita di Santa Croce every December. The hamlets around Beinette’s local chapels preserve liturgical traditions associated with commemorative celebrations.
Wetlands and Distinctive Bodies of Water
The Il Fosso wetland lies in a completely unspoiled landscape and has distinctive ecological and scenic features associated with water. The Il Fosso wetland can be reached on foot or by bicycle.
Lago di Beinette is considered a destination for freshwater diving. Lago di Beinette is equipped for nature observation and surrounded by old semiplanizial woodland, where endangered tree species such as black alder have been preserved. Lago di Beinette is the largest risorgiva in Piedmont and, in terms of water flow, the second-largest in Italy.
Leisure Activities in Parco di Rifreddo
A large picnic area with barbecue facilities, tables, benches, partially covered seating areas and toilets has been set up in Parco di Rifreddo. A multi-stage fitness trail with tested training equipment has also been set up in Parco di Rifreddo. The two facilities have different focuses: the picnic area provides seating and amenities, while the fitness trail is designed around several training stations and tested equipment.

Castello di Rudinì is fenced off and may not be entered. The sites, bodies of water and green spaces therefore differ significantly in character: the Santuario della Madonna della Pieve, Cappella dell’Annunziata and Confraternita di Santa Croce focus on frescoes, architectural history and religious customs; Il Fosso, Lago di Beinette and Parco di Rifreddo are characterized by water, woodland and leisure areas.
