Historical Sites and Trails

Fiastra offers several distinct points of interest for trip planning: historic buildings in Trebbio, a historical walking tour, an artificial reservoir, as well as routes and elevations in the surrounding area. For orientation, the architectural history, route courses and landscape can be considered separately.

In Trebbio stands the abbey church of San Paolo Apostolo, built in the Romanesque style in the 11th century. San Paolo Apostolo contains a colorful oil painting depicting the conversion of Saint Paul. The Romanesque religious building and the religious subject represent two different aspects of the same historic destination.

The historical walking tour of Fiastra leads from San Rocco via Via Umberto and the provincial road uphill to the abbey church of San Paolo Apostolo. The ascent is therefore an essential part of the named route.

In Trebbio, the western section of the fortified enclosure wall and two longitudinally bisected cylindrical towers have survived from Castello Magalotti. Castello Magalotti, also known as Castrum Flastrae, has origins dating back to before the 11th century.

Further destinations for your planning include Bolognola, Croce, Sarnano and Frontignano.
