Trails between the high plateau and viewpoints
The Bossico high plateau has 50 kilometres of trails through meadows and forests with views of Lake Iseo. Sentiero 553 begins in the higher part of Bossico at an altitude of 875 metres and leads across the meadows of Onìt (Onito). In spring, buttercups, daisies and forget-me-nots are among the flowers that bloom there.
The Pozza d’Ast route includes a 2.5-kilometre linear variant that climbs from 1,030 metres to 1,290 metres. One variant reaches a high plateau with views of the River Po and the Apennines when visibility is clear. The Sette Colli loop begins and ends in Località Pila at car park 1 and offers views of Lake Iseo and Monte Isola. The different route lengths and starting points make it easier to compare the options when planning your days according to route type and elevation profile.
Historic sites around Bossico
Sites of cultural and historical interest are also part of the townscape. The historic villas on the Bossico high plateau were built by the middle class in the 19th century. At the entrance to the town stands the parish church of Santi Pietro e Paolo, which probably dates from around 1500.
The Chapel of San Rocco is located at the end of Via Bonomelli, just behind the old washhouse, and also dates from around 1500. A chapel dating from 1902 stands at Colle San Fermo. Above its altar is a fresco depicting Saint Fermo, the Madonna and various domestic animals.
Forest, tranquillity and special places to stay
In a forest clearing, Il Respiro del Bosco includes a meditation area with an information board and hammocks. Alongside the longer trails, this provides a place in the forest where the peaceful side of the high plateau can be experienced.
Cycling routes and a product from Bossico
For mountain biking, the Percorso Rosso is moderately difficult to easy. The MTB loop includes sections on single tracks, gravel roads and technically challenging descents. The Percorso Nero MTB loop begins and ends at the headquarters of the Pro Loco at Via Giardini 1. The Bossico–Ceratello Nordic walking route begins at Piazza S. Pietro, Bossico’s main square.
The aged cheese “Bossico stagionato” is part of the local character. It is matured for 7 to 10 months and produced according to specific production regulations. At Pozza d’Ast, the Gruppo Alpini di Bossico holds a festival every year in July, on the second or third weekend of the month.

Regular bus services run from Bergamo railway station and Lake Iseo to Bossico. The starting points are spread across LocalitĂ Pila, Via Giardini and Piazza S. Pietro.
