Raab-Wieselburg-Ödenburg is part of the northwestern Hungarian administrative district of Győr-Moson-Sopron. The administrative district lies on the borders with Slovakia and Austria and borders the counties of Komárom-Esztergom, Veszprém and Vas within Hungary.

Three major natural regions meet in Győr-Moson-Sopron: Kisalföld, Alpokalja and the Transdanubian Mountains. Most of the terrain is lowland; this includes Szigetköz, the Mosoni Plain and Rábaköz. There is also a rich network of waterways with the Danube, Mosoni-Duna, Rába, Rábca and Marcal.
