Marquartstein is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein in Bavaria. The town is a state-recognized climatic health resort and is visited by tourists at all times of the year.

The former Übersee–Grassau–Marquartstein local railway is part of the town's history. It was built in 1884. Passenger services ended in 1968, and freight services were discontinued after 1992; the line was subsequently dismantled.

The town hall now stands on the site of Marquartstein's former railway station. A buffer stop in the forecourt commemorates the former railway traffic.
