Trinis: Winter Hiking, the Weißach Floodplains and Trails on Wallberg

Trinis is a district of Rottach-Egern. Trails run along the Weißach, through the Weißach floodplains and towards Wallberg. There is a dedicated winter hiking trail for the colder months. Other destinations in Rottach-Egern complement the offerings with walks, culture and a swimming pool directly on Lake Tegernsee.

Unterwallberg Loop from Trinis

The Trinis bus stop is located on Wallbergstraße in Rottach-Egern and is one starting point for the Unterwallberg Loop. From the district, the route follows the Weißach via Oberach to the valley station of the Wallbergbahn; it is signposted as Route No. 10. There is a separate access point at the paid hiking car park at the Wallbergbahn. The loop is classified as moderately difficult. Those starting the tour from Trinis begin in the district; the hiking car park provides a second access point for the same route.

Easy Loop through the Weißach Floodplains

An easier alternative is the Weissachau Loop (Terrainkurweg). It is family-friendly, classified as easy and 4.9 km long. After entering the Trinis district, it leads through the Weißach floodplains. On the way back, it follows the banks of the Weißach to the starting point. The 4.9 kilometres can be factored directly into your day's planning. Its easy classification distinguishes this loop from the moderately difficult Unterwallberg Loop.

Cycle Path and Children's Hiking Trail along the Weißach

A wide cycle path also leads from Trinis through the Weißachauen nature reserve back to the village of Kreuth. The Naturschauspiel Kreuth children's hiking trail is a flat family tour along the Weißach. Interactive stations provide information about the river habitat as well as the flora and fauna in the Weißachauen protected landscape.

Winter Hiking towards Kreuth

The winter hiking trail “From Rottach along the Weißach to Kreuth” is another option for the colder months. In the Trinis district, the last houses along this route come to an end; beyond that, the trail becomes increasingly tranquil. It runs through the Weißachauen protected landscape on designated paths. The colder months give this route its own character.

Wallberg and Malerwinkel

Beyond the trails along the Weißach, Rottach-Egern offers further destinations. Malerwinkel in Egern Bay is ideal for walks. Wallberg, which rises to over 1,700 metres, offers walks and challenging hikes; it also serves as a launch site for paragliding flights. Wallberg and Egern Bay therefore provide different destinations for walks in Rottach-Egern.

Museum and Lakeside and Heated Pool

The Gsotthaber Hof Museum presents rural life and the lives of carters. The See- und Warmbad Rottach-Egern directly on Lake Tegernsee offers another change of pace. It features a large sports pool, a whirlpool, air-bubble loungers, a water slide, a lazy river and a well-maintained sandy beach.
