Hiking and scenery
Tutzing is the starting point for a network of hiking routes covering a total of 230 kilometres. The marked local hiking trails are between 5 and 15 km long and lead through the town. The total figure describes the network, not the length of any one local trail. The 728-metre-high Ilkahöhe lies nearby, south of Tutzing. From there, the view extends across Lake Starnberg and the pre-Alpine hills, with the Chiemgau Alps and Zugspitze in the distance.
The park of Tutzing Castle is also situated on the shores of Lake Starnberg. With its extensive grounds and centuries-old trees, it is a unique natural monument.
Culture throughout the year
The Tutzinger Brahmstage, a classical music festival, has been held every October since 1997, with five concert dates. The Evangelical Academy of Tutzing offers conferences, panel discussions, concerts, readings and lectures; according to the academy, these events are open to everyone.
The former passenger vessel Tutzing is being restored and maintained as a technical monument by the Museumsschiff-Verein Tutzing e.V. During the summer months, the association puts on a cultural programme aboard the vessel, including concerts and cabaret evenings. The Tutzing cultural theatre also regularly hosts theatrical performances, concerts, readings, film screenings and other cultural events. Water, courses and boat trips
Tutzing Sailing School MĂĽller offers courses that prepare participants to take the sailing or motorboat licence exams. At Nordbad, windsurfing courses are available to beginners and advanced surfers of all ages. The surf and sailing centre at Nordbad also offers catamaran courses for all ability levels. Surfboards and other windsurfing equipment can be rented there by those who do not have their own. Sailboats can also be rented at Nordbad; availability may vary by season.
Nordbad has a sunbathing lawn for swimming and sunbathing. At SĂĽdbad, the bathing area is supervised by the German Red Cross (DRK) to help ensure safe swimming; supervision may be seasonal. For boat trips on Lake Starnberg, the Tutzing landing stage offers routes heading south or north. The extended pier also makes it possible to change boats there.
