Geographical Classification

The municipality of Berg was formed in 1975 from the formerly independent municipalities of Bachhausen, Berg, and Höhenrain. To the northeast, Berg borders the Munich district; to the west and south, it borders the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.

Culture

Berg is associated with the death of King Ludwig II in 1886. The votive chapel and a wooden cross in the lake commemorate this event. Villa Rustica Leutstetten is also located in the vicinity of Berg.
