Guided tours in Erding give residents and tourists insights into the history of the town and its buildings. A tour of the town tower takes you up one of the town’s oldest buildings. Climb 163 steps to a height of 35 metres; from there, the view stretches across Erding and the surrounding area to Munich and, in foehn conditions, as far as the Alpine panorama. The themed walks last around an hour and take you through the old town, the town’s districts, or in the footsteps of the artists. For longer hikes, trails in Erding range from 5.9 to 15 kilometres; estimated walking times are between one and a half and five hours.
Another cultural and historical highlight in Erding is the former home and studio of Franz Xaver Stahl. It is furnished with historic furniture. The Biedermeier house dates from around 1840; the former studio has remained unchanged since his death.
