History

Krombach's first Frankish settlement was established around 1,200 years ago. A burial mound near Hauenstein indicates settlement during the Celtic period.

The parish of Krombach was founded in the 9th century by Seligenstadt Abbey. Later, the village came into the hands of several noble and ecclesiastical rulers.
