Trails and Landscapes
The route to the Marais de Pré Lombard is easy and close to the town. It crosses the Plateau de Servolex, passing through agricultural and wooded areas as well as wetlands. At the Marais de Pré Lombard, the route follows the Leysse and features information boards about the river’s fish. From Chambéry city centre, the Marais de Pré Lombard can be reached by bus lines C or 1 towards De Gaulle, getting off at the “La Motte Centre” stop.
The climb to the Col de l’Épine is a sporty hike that runs mostly through the forest along partly steep paths. There are picnic areas along the route at Pré-Puisat and at the pass. The route offers views of Lac du Bourget and the Bauges, Belledonne and Chartreuse massifs. The Col de l’Épine also has a viewpoint with a landscape interpretation panel.
The Château Richard forest hike is very challenging and includes a section with metal ladders, which can be bypassed by following the directional signs. The route offers views of Mont Blanc, the Bauges, Lauzière, Belledonne and Chartreuse massifs, Lac d’Aiguebelette and the Avant-Pays savoyard.
The Boucle des hameaux is an 11-kilometre hike with 360 metres of elevation gain through the hamlets of La Motte-Servolex. Les Hauts de Chamoux is an easy 3.6-kilometre circular hike that runs mostly along forest paths and offers views of Chambéry, the surrounding massifs and Lac du Bourget. The Boucle des Janons is a 2-kilometre family trail in the Tremblay area.
Culture and Art
The Domaine Reinach covers 40 hectares in La Motte-Servolex, in Savoie, lies at the foot of the Épine massif and faces east towards Mont Revard and Nivolet. Most of the Domaine Reinach is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. Château Reinach was renovated from 1899 to 1903 and designed in the Neo-Louis XIII style using brick and stone.
La Conciergerie presents solo and group exhibitions of contemporary art and offers guided tours. La Conciergerie in La Motte-Servolex can be reached from Chambéry by bus line C.
La Motte-Servolex has a 45-minute urban art walking tour through the town, which can be explored on foot, with a pushchair, by bicycle or on a skateboard.
