Winter and Mountains

The Tramway du Mont-Blanc runs from Le Fayet at an altitude of 580 meters to Nid d’Aigle at an altitude of 2,372 meters. The 12.4-kilometer route gives families safe access to the high-mountain experience. In winter, the Tramway du Mont-Blanc also takes pedestrians and skiers to the Les Houches ski area.

The Sentier du Baroque is a 6.5-kilometer, easy one-way hiking trail that begins in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains.

Connections

The Mont Blanc Express connects Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet with Vallorcine. The Léman Express connects Saint-Gervais-les-Bains with Geneva.

Culture

The Maison forte de Hautetour is a former 13th-century building with a permanent exhibition on mountaineering and the history of the Compagnie des guides. It also hosts temporary exhibitions and artist residencies.

The Sentier du Baroque connects the Baroque churches and chapels of Saint-Gervais and Saint-Nicolas de Véroce. The route to the old fortified houses is a one-hour walk through Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. It is designed as a self-guided tour with information panels and a brochure; guided tours are available on request.

Nature

The Mont d'Arbois mountain is located in the vicinity of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. The Mont Joux summit, the Passy Plaine-Joux summit, and the Aiguille de Varan summit are also nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains lies the named site of Planajeur; it is considered a ruin.
