Saint-Eustache: Hotels and Accommodation

Nature

Saint-Eustache lies in the Laudon Valley between Roc des Bœufs and Semnoz and is part of the Bauges Regional Natural Park. Forests cover around half of Saint-Eustache’s area – approximately 586 ha out of a total of 1,054 ha –; there are also regional plant species and a diverse range of wildlife.

Hiking

The 6 km-long, moderately difficult hiking route “Le Clay - Cochette par La Tête” begins in Saint-Eustache. It offers views of Saint-Jorioz, Sevrier and Annecy and includes some vertiginous sections.

Culture

On the “Boucle du Laudon” hiking route, the memorial to Saint-Eustache as a martyr village of the Second World War and the ruins of the Saint-Eustache tower are marked as points of interest. The Saint-Eustache church is a new building constructed in 1864. Saint-Eustache commemorates the tragedy of 31 December 1943 every year.

The guided tour “Regards sur le patrimoine bâti” in Saint-Eustache focuses on the remains of a medieval tower and the small distinctive features of the village streets. Saint-Eustache’s pink town hall and school building was built in 1880 and still houses the nursery school.

Local

The Fromagerie de la Cochette, a cheese dairy and shop selling local products, is located in the hamlet of Le Cruet in Saint-Eustache. It focuses on short regional supply chains.
