Nature
The Circuit de la Michaille is a moderately difficult 12 km circular hike. The route takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes and includes 327 metres of ascent. It follows the botanical trail through the Arboretum d'Ardon. In clear weather, the Circuit de la Michaille offers views of the Alps and the Jura and leads to the restored Chapelle Saint-Michel in Ardon.
The Sentier de l'Arboretum d'Ardon showcases 31 tree species planted between 1908 and 1935, as well as in 2024. The 2024 planting is testing eight tree species that are not widespread in forests and in France.
The summits of Crêt du Milieu and Crêt du Miroir, as well as the mountains Crêt de l'Auger and Crêt du Nû, are located around Châtillon-en-Michaille.
Day and annual passes are issued at Étang du Nièvre. Training sessions for children aged three and over are also offered there.
