Roche Baron is a climbing area in the mountains at an altitude of almost 1,400 metres. It is considered very sunny, but also very windy. There is a car park directly next to the sunny climbing wall; the site is suitable for first climbing experiences. The climbing route L'heure de la recree also passes through Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières. The VTTAE Route No. 01 – Circuit du Poux leads to Roche Baron, one of the most important climbing areas in the Pays des Écrins, and then to two small hamlets of the municipality of Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières built around their Alpine chapels.

Geographical location
Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières stretches over more than 55 km² along the gorges of the Durance.
Culture and history
The Église Saint-Martin was rebuilt between 1420 and 1469. The Chapelle Saint-Jacques-de-Prelles was formerly a parish church and is a pilgrims' chapel on the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela.
The altarpiece of the Chapelle Saint-Antoine bears the date 1664. The chapel stands in open countryside about 100 metres north of the hamlet of Villard-Meyer; a communal bread oven is located nearby. It also has a gallery containing objects associated with pilgrimages and processions, including death bells and banners.
The Chapelle Saint-Hippolyte-du-Bouchier stands in the hamlet of Bouchier on a rocky outcrop at an altitude of 1,500 metres above the Durance Valley and offers panoramic views over the Briançonnais. It has significant painted decoration dating from the late 15th century to the first quarter of the 16th century. The chapel is a pilgrims' chapel, still has its hermitage, and was extended in the 16th century.
Landscape
At the Site des Vignettes, 16 information panels illustrate nine centuries of wine-growing history in the Argentièrois. There are houses built into the rocks, as well as the remains of vineyards cultivated at an altitude of between 1,100 and 1,250 metres.
Activities
The Moulin de Gilbert Planche combined a grain mill and a sawmill and could switch between the two uses depending on the season. It is considered the first electrified mill in the Briançonnais.
Rafiki Rafting welcomes guests in Prelles and offers guided rafting, hydrospeed and inflatable-kayak descents on the rivers of the Hautes-Alpes. The Haute Durance Equitation riding centre offers riding lessons, rides and trail rides for children and adults in the municipality of Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières during the summer.
