Bézaudun-Les-Alpes: Hotels and Accommodation

Landscape

The mountain of Saint-Valentin is located in the immediate vicinity of Bézaudun-les-Alpes. The Colle des Pouis summit and Mount Perséguier are also in the vicinity of the village.

Historic villagescape

Near the Les Quatre Chemins pass, particularly well-preserved remains of a private dry-stone fortification can be observed, which may be dated to the end of the Early Middle Ages. On the south-western slope of the hill above the Notre-Dame du Peuple church, the remains of a dry-stone settlement can be observed, which may date from Late Antiquity or the Early Middle Ages.

Churches and history

The fully restored Notre-Dame-du-Peuple Chapel houses the altarpiece of the Merciful Virgin by the Niçois painter Louis Bréa. South of the village, the Romanesque chapel was once a pilgrimage site for the villages of the Estéron.

The restored remains of the fortification walls and the medieval castle, together with the 12th-century Saint-Martin Church, its campanile and the small cemetery above the valley, form a harmonious historic ensemble. The extensively remodelled Notre-Dame de la Nativité–Saint-Martin Church is a 13th-century Romanesque building with a small campanile.

Paths and the wider surroundings

Several hiking trails start in Bézaudun-les-Alpes, including routes to the summit of Mouton d’Anou. Near Bézaudun-les-Alpes, riding centres offer horseback rides and training in equestrian professions.

The Fondation Maeght museum is located in the wider region around Bézaudun-les-Alpes. The Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Paix de Castagniers monastery is in the surrounding area.
