Hiking trails in the village of Ventron

The Club Vosgien maintains and marks the hiking trails in the village of Ventron. Ventron has more than 120 km of hiking trails marked by the Club Vosgien. Ventron’s marked trail network includes both family trails and long-distance hiking trails. When preparing a hike, you can initially distinguish between these two types of trails when making your selection. On an outing, you can choose a trail based on the desired type without equating the total size of the network with the length of a single tour.

Grand Ventron and protected nature

At 1,204 metres, Grand Ventron is the highest point in Ventron. An orientation table on the Chaume du Grand Ventron helps you identify the most important peaks and the famous Route des Crêtes. The two chaumes in the Massif du Grand Ventron lie at the heart of the Réserve Naturelle du Massif du Grand Ventron. The Réserve Naturelle du Massif du Grand Ventron is a protected area with remarkable flora and fauna. Textile history at the Musée du textile de Ventron

The former Grand Ventron textile factory was purchased by the municipality in 1988; in 1991, it became the Musée du textile de Ventron. At the Musée du textile de Ventron, visitors can follow the processing of cotton from bale to yarn. The Musée du textile de Ventron also shows the development of looms from the 18th century to the present day. A weaving workshop is also part of the offering: in the weaving workshop at the Musée du textile de Ventron, children and adults can become weavers themselves. This area of the museum is therefore aimed at visitors who want not only to observe textile production but also to learn about the weaving process in practice.

Chapelle de l’Ermitage Frère Joseph

The Chapelle de l’Ermitage Frère Joseph is a building protected as a historic monument. It was built in 1757 by residents of Ventron for the hermit Frère Joseph. On the last Sunday in July, a pilgrimage mass is celebrated at the Chapelle de l’Ermitage Frère Joseph. There is a car park near the Chapelle de l’Ermitage Frère Joseph. The chapel thus represents a specifically dated part of Ventron’s history and an annually designated date in July.
