The former Saint Grégoire Abbey has preserved 17th-century cloister vaults, a spiral staircase leading to the former monks’ cells, and a late-15th-century Gothic door. The Bâtiment du Prélat is the most significant surviving part of the former Benedictine abbey; it was built between 1682 and 1686.

Culture and history

The Tour aux cigognes was added to the former abbey building in 1872 as a tall neo-Gothic tower. The Vieille maison de Munster is one of the oldest houses in the town. Since its first known mention in 1495, it had been owned by craftsmen and merchants. The residents referred to the house as “Bazar” for a long time because it housed a trading business.
