Culture
The Church of the Ascension of the Lord was founded in the first third of the 14th century. The vaulted presbytery and sacristy are preserved from the original Gothic structure. Jan Evangelista Kypta, a composer and educational writer born in Borotín, spent a great deal of time in this church. A substantial part of his later compositional work was devoted to church music.
History
The ruins of Borotín Gothic Castle are situated on elevated ground east of Borotín and are surrounded on three sides by the waters of Zámecký Pond and Babinec Pond. The surviving remains include a cylindrical tower and an adjoining Gothic palace. The castle was first mentioned in historical records in 1356 in connection with Vítek of Borotín.
Trails
The almost 4 km-long Jana Evangelista Kypta Educational Trail leads to Borotín Castle and presents the history of the castle and Borotín. Visitors can park in Borotín or arrive by bus and then walk approximately 1.4 km to Borotín Castle.

Šachovna Hill [Borotín u Tábora] is located in the vicinity of Borotín, as is Dehetník Hill [Borotín-Pikov].
