Skiing and summer holidays in the Allgäu for kids
The Allgäu landscape ranges from gentle hills to steep cliffs. It is well known and popular for its varied skiing. Bad Hindelang, Balderschwang Grünten, Nesselwang, Oberstaufen and Pfronten offer more than 300 kilometres of pistes. Skiers of all ability levels will find ideal runs here, including World Cup-standard slopes. The Allgäu winter wonderland comes into its own from December to March.
A winter wonderland for skiing enthusiasts, snowboarders, freeriders and romantics—and especially for kids. Children have a wonderful time on a holiday in the snow. In the Allgäu, several smaller ski lifts make it easier for children to take their first turns on skis. Away from the big slopes and the hustle and bustle, they can enjoy some peace and quiet while skiing. Besides, children are always welcome in the Allgäu.

The same goes for summer holidays. The breathtakingly beautiful landscape has plenty of surprises in store for children in summer, too. Lots of fun and excitement with GPS treasure hunts, rafting, high ropes courses, knight-themed adventures, summer tobogganing and more. A summer fairy tale for children aged 4 and up.
New to summer fun in the Allgäu is the „Alpsee Coaster“. A double chairlift between Oberstaufen and Immenstadt is considered Germany's longest toboggan run. It takes adventurers to the starting point. Then it's 3 km of fun over bridges and streams in just under 10 minutes. The Alpsee Coaster also runs in winter!
Adventure playgrounds and a petting zoo are also on the programme in the Allgäu—and adults have plenty of fun, too. The Alpsee-Grünten holiday region is especially popular, with the villages of Blaichach, Burgberg and Rettenberg. Set amid the picture-perfect Allgäu landscape, the Großer Alpsee is a big attraction. Enjoy paddling, boating, paragliding, sailing and surfing—or even a hot-air balloon ride. There's something for summer holidaymakers of all ages.
