French ski resort Les Arcs in the current ski season is getting ready to offer its guests special experience. Tourists can get it on the new route of toboggan, which promises to become one of the largest ski slopes in Europe.
The track will be located in the most popular village of the Les acres resort - Arc 2000. Its length is 3 kilometers, and elevation - 400 meters.
Toboggan or “Indian sledges” is a popular form of entertainment at ski resorts. It means the downhill on the wide sledges without runners. To date, the route for toboggans can be found all over the world: from the ski resorts in the U.S. and Europe to ski resorts in Australia and New Zealand.
In Europe toboggan tracks for a long time had mainly been located at the ski resorts in Austria and Switzerland. The first route for toboggan in France appeared in Courchevel a few years ago. Following Courchevel their own toboggan got Val Thorens and Les Menuires.
The new toboggan track in Les Arcs, which is scheduled to be opened in the near ski season, will be the fourth in France.
As reported by a number of British portals on ski vacation, a new route is likely to have age restrictions for the huge amount of steep turns. It is possible that children under 12 years will be out of access to the track.
Skiing in Les Arcs is available today by a single ski pass Paradiski. Paradiski region in addition to Les Arcs also includes the resort of La Plagne. The Les Arcs resort itself is made up of five small villages, including Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, Arc 2000 and Bourg Saint Maurice.
Besides the opening of the track, upcoming ski season at Les Arcs resort will please the guests by variety of exciting events. The closest of these will be the European Film Festival that is to be held in Les Arcs from 11 to 18 of December 2010.
