Culture and History
As a visitor attraction, Inden offers a 270° cinema. It is housed in a restored freight wagon from the former LLB railway and presents the history of Inden and the LLB from 1242 to 2019.
The late Baroque church of Inden is a visitor attraction. The Chapel of St. Anthony is considered to be 500 years old. Inden was first mentioned in documents dating from 1242. A fire destroyed almost the entire village of Inden and its archive in 1741. Goethe mentioned Inden in his travel account from 1779. The former station of the Leuk-Leukerbad railway in Inden was subsequently used as a shop.
Hiking
The Dala-Raspille day hike showcases the contrasting natural and cultural landscapes of Valais. The route reaches Inden via an old Roman road.
Cycling
The Dala Kultur Bike is designed as a beginner’s tour with technically easy trails and connects natural and cultural highlights. On the way to Inden, it passes through meadows, pastures, and mixed forests of conifers and deciduous trees. Part of the route runs along the former railway track bed of the Leuk-Leukerbad railway. After Inden, the Dala Kultur Bike passes a restored lime kiln dating from the Late Middle Ages.
