Winter

The Gommer Höhenweg between Münster and Oberwald follows a sunny slope through open larch forest at an altitude of approximately 1,600 to 1,700 metres. A hiking route along the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway leads through the valley; individual stages can be combined with short train journeys.

Landscape

Goms lies in the upper Rhône Valley in the eastern part of Valais. The region stretches from the Rhône Glacier down to Fiesch.
