Nature and culture

Urner Boden is considered the largest cow pasture in Switzerland. It is associated with a traditional alpine summer season: at the beginning of summer, the cattle are driven up to the alp, and after the season on the upper alp comes the Bodäfahrt.

A local legend tells of a race connected with the historic border dispute between Uri and Glarus.

The Muotathal monastery is located in the surrounding area of Spiringen; the Goldau Nature and Animal Park is situated farther away in the wider region.

Uri Tourism presents Spiringen, Ratzi, and Urner Boden as an area for excursions with a wide range of activities.
