Chur's Old Town is one of the best-preserved old towns in Switzerland. For your stay in Chur, you would like to book a hotel.

Culture

The Rhaetian Museum in Chur presents the history of Graubünden from its beginnings to the present day in a permanent exhibition spread over four floors. The archaeological exhibition includes traces of settlement from Chur-Marsöl dating from around 11,000 to 9,500 BC.

The Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur is accessible; all museum rooms are wheelchair-accessible and can be reached by lift.

Old Town

Visitors can explore Chur's Old Town on foot or as part of a guided tour. It is almost entirely free of traffic; red signs point the way to sights, squares and alleyways. Above Chur's Old Town stands the 800-year-old Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, one of Switzerland's most important cultural monuments. The Obertor is one of the surviving tower structures of Chur's medieval fortifications.

Nature and Trails

Brambrüesch is a high plateau with hiking trails and panoramic views over the Rhine Valley. The Dreibündenstein circular tour is one of the hiking options on Brambrüesch. The Dreibündenstein circular hike passes through diverse alpine flora and reaches a point at Furggabüel with an impressive panoramic view in all directions. The Brambiweg on Brambrüesch is a signposted walking trail for families.

Accessibility

Brambrüesch can be reached directly from Chur by cable car. The Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur is a five-minute walk from the railway station and the PostBus station.
