Guggisberg: Hotels and Accommodation

Above Guggisberg lies the Guggershörnli, a distinctive wooded mountain with an outcrop of Nagelfluh rock. From Guggisberg, the mountain can be reached in about half an hour and offers panoramic views. The steep rock face of the Guggershörnli is climbed from the west via a sturdy wooden staircase.

At the Guggershörnli, a fire pit offers views across Gantrisch Nature Park, from the Alps to Lake Biel. Seating makes it a panoramic rest area. The fire pit is covered and has a grill grate as well as additional seating.

Hiking

The Vreneli Trail connects Guggisberg either with Walenhaus via the Guggershörnli or with Riffenmatt via the Schwendelberg. Along the way, there are five designed stations offering views and playful activities.

The Vreneli Trail follows official hiking paths, but is quite steep and requires suitable hiking equipment and sturdy footwear. From the trail, you can return to Guggisberg via the marked hiking path or by post bus.

The fire pit at the Guggershörnli can be reached from Guggisberg or Riffenmatt via a hiking trail.

Culture

The Vreneli Museum in Guggisberg tells the story behind one of Switzerland’s best-known folk songs. It can be visited by prior arrangement and offers a guided presentation of the Vreneli story in Guggisberg.

The ground floor of the Vreneli Museum is wheelchair accessible; the first and second floors are not wheelchair accessible.
