Winter
At Lombachalp near Lägerstutz, there is a prepared sledding slope. Bus-alpin route 31.107 connects Habkern Zäundli with Lombachalp-Roteschwand and operates partly as a on-demand bus.
Nature
Above Interlaken and Habkern lies Lombachalp, with an 86 km² moorland landscape that is considered one of the largest and most impressive in Switzerland. Lombachalp has extensive fens as well as rare, protected raised bogs. Because of their sensitivity to trampling and their rarity, the raised bogs are protected areas; they must not be entered at any time of year.
The Lombachalp Explorer Kit makes it possible to explore the Habkern-Sörenberg moorland landscape and the protected area around Lombachalp. It can be borrowed free of charge from Restaurant Jägerstübli approximately between June and October.
Getting Around
Hohgant Bike is a 41-kilometre cycling route starting and ending in Habkern. Habkern swimming pool is just a few minutes’ walk from the Zäundli bus stop and is easily accessible by public transport.

Culture
Habkern Church was built in 1666 by Abraham I Dünz on the hillside of the scattered settlement and has been renovated several times since. The coat-of-arms relief in the vestibule, the pulpit, the baptismal font and six heraldic panes, most of which were created by Matthias Zwirn, date from the time the church was built.
The Habkern Local Museum presents the village’s history through traditional household objects, tools, musical instruments, as well as photographs and film footage. It is located in a former classroom and explores the traditions, customs, crafts and unique geology of the Habkern Valley.
At Bernatone Alphornbau, visitors can book a workshop tour to learn more about the production of the traditional Swiss alphorn. The Bernatone Alphornbau museum is usually open free of charge.

At Alp Heubühlen, visitors can watch the production of alpine cheese. Fresh alpine cheese is sold on site, and a traditional herdsmen’s breakfast with rösti, fried eggs and cheese is also offered.
