The Las Merindades region of Burgos features a pronounced karst landscape, exemplified by the Ojo Guareña natural monument. Its cave system comprises 110 kilometers of mapped galleries in its main network. The caves provide a habitat for 190 cave species, many of them endemic, and show evidence of human use since prehistoric times.
If Burgos is your destination, you can find a hotel there.

It features a theater that was particularly large for its time, with seating rows partly carved into the rock, as well as mosaics dating from the 2nd to the 4th century AD. The Castillo de los Duques de Frías has a keep, an irregularly square parade ground, a moat and towers at the corners.
The Museo Sonidos del Mundo is located near the Monasterio de Santo Domingo de Silos and displays more than 80 instruments from 30 countries in a restored 17th-century building. It extends across two exhibition levels and organizes the instruments into four major families.
