Nature

The summit of Palenica can be reached by the Palenica cable car and accessed via a blue hiking trail. From the summit of Palenica, a green hiking trail leads towards Orłowa, Brenna and Madziówka. From the upper station of the Czantoria cable car, an easy forest path leads to the summit with its observation tower in about 30 minutes.

The Palenica Bike Park currently has four downhill trails with varying levels of difficulty. At Leśny Park Niespodzianek, the Sowiarnia’s main attraction is flight demonstrations featuring specially trained owls. About 30 birds currently live in the Sokolarnia. The Centre for Nature and Forest Education presents animal exhibitions from North America, Africa and Europe.

There is a fountain in front of the Pijalnia Wód – the Ustroń graduation tower.

Culture

The Ustroń Museum displays monumental forging machines. The Ustroń Museum includes a growing open-air museum; it is also located at the historically significant site of the former “Klemens” ironworks.

In the centre of Ustroń, Stara Zagroda includes a reconstruction of a house dating from 1768, using authentic fragments such as door frames and ceiling beams. The Stara Zagroda ethnographic museum houses a permanent exhibition of old equipment.

The Evangelical church in Ustroń, dedicated to the Apostle James the Elder, was built in 1838. The church contains an altar from 1883, donated by ironworks workers from Ustroń, Trzyniec and Frydek. The parish church of St. Clement in Ustroń was consecrated on 23 November 1788.
