Winter and Trails
The paved riverside promenade along the Żylica is a shared path for pedestrians and cyclists. Outside winter, it is also used by inline skaters and Nordic walking enthusiasts, while in winter it is used by cross-country skiers. The promenade starts at the town hall and follows the river through the Central Sports Centre towards Buczkowice.
Geographical Location
Szczyrk lies in the Żylica Valley in the Silesian Beskids, in the Żywiec region. The town is located south of Bielsko-Biała, northeast of Wisła and northwest of Żywiec.
Nature
Skalite, Magura, Klimczok and Skrzyczne are located in the vicinity of Szczyrk. The town lies at the foot of Skrzyczne (1,257 m) and Klimczok (1,117 m) and is surrounded by highly mountainous terrain.
