The Dębowiec Centre has a 610-metre ski slope. The centre also has a nature trail with six information boards. This means visitors can enjoy both a winter activity and an opportunity to learn about nature in one place. The information about the slope and the trail relates to different interests; choose the focus of your stay according to the type of activity you plan to pursue.

Bielsko-Biała has 16 mountain hiking trails with a total length of 81 kilometres. Those who prefer to get around on two wheels can find a network of uphill and one-way mountain bike singletracks at Enduro Trails Bielsko-Biała. The routes vary in difficulty, ranging from easy descents to technically demanding downhill trails. You can choose between the 16 mountain hiking trails and the mountain bike trail network, with its varying levels of difficulty.

The blue Flow trails Rock'N'Rolla and Twister are more than 11 kilometres long combined. If you include the mountain bike routes in your travel plans, you can use both this named group of trails and the network’s varying difficulty levels as a guide.

City History and Textile Traditions

The Castle of the Sułkowski Dukes is the oldest and largest historic building in the historic city of Bielsko-Biała. For more than two centuries, it served as one of the residences of the Piast dukes of Cieszyn. The Market Square preserves townhouses from the 17th and 18th centuries within its medieval urban layout. These buildings offer different ways to explore the city’s history: the ducal castle and the houses around the square.

The Weavers’ House in Górne Przedmieście offers a distinct perspective on local textile history. The district has existed since the first half of the 15th century and was inhabited by clothmakers from Bielsko. The permanent exhibition recreates the home and workshop of a master clothmaker. Following years of conservation and reconstruction work, the Weavers’ House opened to visitors in 1992.

The city’s industrial past is also represented at a museum site: the Stara Fabryka Museum is housed in the buildings of a former cloth and woollen goods factory, which had been operating since 1887. In 2006, the museum was added to the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship. The Polish Theatre building was constructed in 1890 and features a restored, richly decorated interior. For visitors wishing to include architecture and culture alongside mountain activities, it adds a theatre building with its own history to the historic sites and museums.

Szyndzielnia and Getting Your Bearings

The cable car to Szyndzielnia covers a distance of 1,810 metres. Next to its upper station is an observation tower with a platform 18 metres high. A telescope there offers 25x magnification. The “Stara Stacja” restaurant is now located in the building of the former upper cable car station. This spot brings together several named places on the mountain: the cable car route, the observation tower beside the upper station, and the restaurant in the former station building.

For help planning your arrival, it is also worth noting Bielsko-Biała Główna railway station: its station building was constructed in 1890, and its main hall contains restored Pompeiian polychromes.
