For a ski holiday in Myrkdalen, 22 ski slopes of all difficulty levels and a cross-country trail network of more than 30 km are useful points of reference. When looking for accommodation for your ski holiday, you can first decide whether ski slopes, trails or seasonal cycling activities will shape your stay. A dedicated children's area complements the information about the slopes with green runs and lifts.

Ski slopes and children's area

Myrkdalen has 22 ski slopes of all difficulty levels and four ski parks. For groups with different ability levels, it is helpful to distinguish between the full range of slopes and the children's area: the latter has four green runs. The children's area also has two platter lifts and a slow-moving conveyor belt. This makes it possible to consider the wide range of ski slope difficulties separately from the specific facilities in the children's area. The numbers of slopes, parks and facilities in the children's area may change following future renovations; check the current configuration when planning your trip.

Cross-country trails and marked path

The cross-country trail network, which is more than 30 km long, starts in the centre of Myrkdalen; near Helgatun, it is connected by a ski bridge over the RV13. Another starting point is the marked path from Myrkdalen Fjellandsby, which leads via Vetlebotn towards Finnbunuten. The distinction is clear for navigation: the trails start in the centre, while the marked path starts at Myrkdalen Fjellandsby. The length and connections of the trail network may change over time; check the current route before your trip. Check the path’s markings and conditions according to the season.

Seasonal cycling activities and other facilities

The 850 m² pump track is located right in front of Myrkdalen Hotel. It is a seasonal activity in spring, summer and autumn, and is very popular with children and adults. There are also jump lines with different difficulty levels below Helgatun, by the ski bridge. Helgatun is therefore a recurring point of reference: the connection between the trails over the RV13 is mentioned there, and the jump lines are below the ski bridge. You can rent mountain bikes from Myrkdalen Sport og Skiutleige; the rental inventory may change. Use of the cycling facility in Myrkdalen is free for everyone. Check seasonal operating details before your trip. It is important to distinguish between the two for planning: the rental is for mountain bikes from the provider, while use of the cycling facility is free.
