Churches, Engraving and Museum
A Roman villa was discovered at the Chiesa di San Zeno in Castelletto in 2004. A Roman villa is a structure from the Roman period, thus placing the find in an ancient era. The Pietra di Castelletto is considered the only European example of this type of engraving outside the Valcamonica area. An engraving is a depiction worked into a surface.
The present-day Chiesa di San Carlo Borromeo in Castelletto di Brenzone was built between 1905 and 1908 to replace the previous church building. The Museo delle Tradizioni – Santa Maria Domenica Mantovani is located in the heart of Castelletto and is housed in the birthplace of Santa Maria Domenica Mantovani. The church and museum represent two different historical points of reference within the town.
