Vintl is located at the entrance to the Pfunderer Valley and brings together several clearly distinct visitor themes: the production of loden fabric, museums and insights into traditional crafts, historic architecture, as well as trails in and around Obervintl. Vintl is particularly known for the production of loden fabric. Those who want to get to know the village through its regional specialities will therefore find concrete points of interest above all at the Loden World and other themed attractions.
Loden and Cheese as Regional Themes
The Loden World in Vintl comprises an interactive museum, an open-air enclosure with sheep and a traditional loden workshop. During a guided tour of the Loden Museum, visitors learn all about the production of traditional Bozen loden – from shearing the sheep to fulling and carding the wool, right through to spinning. The journey from raw material to finished loden can thus be followed through several stages of production.
For those interested in culture, the museum, workshop and open-air enclosure with sheep at the Loden World are all connected with loden production.
The Loden World is located on the Puster Valley state road and is signposted from there at the Lodenwirt exit. In Vintl, Capriz offers a guided tour of the museum and demonstration cheese dairy, followed by a cheese tasting in the shop.
Culture in Obervintl
The parish church of St. Nicholas in Obervintl is a uniformly Gothic building dating from the end of the 15th century, which was Baroque-style remodelled in 1749.
The Castel Raubschlössl circular trail in Obervintl offers a shorter 2.8-kilometre circuit and a longer 4.8-kilometre circular hike. Both variants begin and end at the church in Obervintl. The two routes therefore explicitly differ in length, while the starting and ending point remain the same for both variants. The specific choice of route can therefore be based on the desired distance for the day.
Themed Trails and Nature Experiences
The Elfenweg themed hiking trail in Obervintl features eleven interactive experience stations covering animal tracks, forest animals and the local plant life. The stations focus on tracks and animals as well as the plant life found in the area.
During the closure of a section of the Elfenweg, the Obervintl Waterfall remained accessible via Schlossergasse. In the wider area around Vintl, the Parthof farm is located along the Pfunders Farm Trail, featuring a themed museum that is accessible only as part of guided visits.

Getting to Vintl
Vintl can be reached by regional trains via Franzensfeste; from there, bus connections continue to the other holiday resorts. Vintl and the Pfunderer Valley can also be reached via the main road. When travelling by train, the regional train connection via Franzensfeste is followed by onward travel by bus.
