Ski area and ski connections

The Champoluc ski area has slopes of varying difficulty levels for everyone from beginners to experienced skiers. The term difficulty level helps you assess a descent according to its demands. From Champoluc and Frachey, a ski connection leads on skis to Gressoney-La-Trinité and Alagna in Valsesia. From Champoluc, the cable cars provide access to higher-altitude areas, from which off-piste ski routes and ski excursions begin. An off-piste ski route is a separate type of trail and should be distinguished from a groomed slope. In skiing, a ski connection refers to a route covered on skis.

The Pian Villy forest is located near the built-up area of Champoluc. The summit of Monte Rothorn is in the immediate vicinity of Champoluc-Champlan. The summit of Corno Vitello is in the vicinity of Champoluc-Champlan. The mountain of Grand Tournalin is in the vicinity of Champoluc-Champlan. Lago Blu and winter hiking

Lago Blu has intensely turquoise-coloured water, with the Monte Rosa massif visible in the background. The hike to Lago Blu begins in Saint Jacques at an elevation of 1,689 metres, ascends 550 metres and takes just under two hours. On a hike, the elevation gain refers to the difference in altitude to be covered; the duration describes the approximate walking time. In winter, snowshoes are required for the route to Lago Blu. Snowshoes distribute weight over snowy ground and are intended for walking, not skiing.

Crest: trails and craftsmanship

Crest can be reached from Champoluc by gondola or on foot in 45 minutes via hiking trail no. 13. Sabots are traditional wooden shoes that were historically made by families in the Crest area, particularly in winter. In this local context, a gondola and a hiking trail represent different ways of reaching Crest from Champoluc. In Crest, sabots represent a history of craftsmanship.

Villy Bike Park

Villy Bike Park has a pump track with dirt mounds, parabolic curves and ramps of varying difficulty levels for young people up to the age of 15. A pump track is a circuit where waves, curves and ramps shape the ride. The sculpted elements give this type of circuit its characteristic structure.
