There is a beach mobility service at Sehlendorf Beach. It transports visitors from the main DLRG station to the beach and into the water. The main DLRG station is the starting point for these transports. In addition, there are four automatic alarm stations. When planning a visit to the beach, knowledge of these facilities can be included in your personal preparations. Sehlendorf has a designated dog beach east of the small toilet building. Dogs are subject to a seasonal rule at the beach. From April 1 to September 30, dogs may only be taken within the designated dog beach area. From October 1 to March 31, dogs may instead be taken on a leash along the entire beach. For stays with a dog, the travel period is therefore decisive for the applicable beach rule. The two periods require different preparations: during the summer half-year, the restriction to the designated area is the rule; during the winter half-year, dogs must be kept on a leash along the entire beach. If a beach visit with a dog is close to the changeover between the periods, the applicable dates should be checked in advance. For preparation, it is also important to determine whether the stay falls within the designated area or covers the entire beach. When visiting near the changeover dates, the exact date is particularly important because the permitted area or leash rule changes with the new period. What matters, therefore, is which of the two periods mentioned applies on the day of the visit.
