Eibenstock is connected to the 40.5-kilometre Three Reservoirs Hiking Trail. The route combines forest paths, views of reservoirs, natural features, as well as churches, and can also be completed as a two- to three-day hiking or pilgrimage route.

Nature
The 1,018-metre-high Auersberg is topped by a stone observation tower dating from 1860; from there, the view extends across the Vogtland and into the Bohemian Ore Mountains. More than 400 kilometres of marked hiking and nature trails run around the Auersberg, including the Kammweg ridge trail. From Eibenstock, the Sosa Reservoir Circuit cycling route connects to the Auersberg Circuit via approximately two kilometres of the latter.
The Carlsfeld Reservoir Circuit begins in Carlsfeld, crosses the dam crest of Germany’s highest drinking-water reservoir, and continues towards the German-Czech border along the Ore Mountains ridge. Wurzelrudis Gerstenberg Circular Trail is a family-friendly circular hiking trail on easily accessible forest paths; it is also suitable for pushchairs and children’s bicycles. The circuit is ten kilometres long, or eight kilometres from the Badegärten car park. Wurzelrudis Water Nature Trail is 4.5 kilometres long from the hiking car park on the B 283.
History
The Schatzhaus Erzgebirge Museum focuses on the local settlement history, tin and iron-ore mining, historic crafts and Ore Mountain folk art. Demonstrations on historic embroidery machines are also held. The sculpture park at the market square displays life-size wooden figures of historical people who lived and worked there during the time of Clara Angermann and the famine of 1770 to 1772. The figures stand around the walk-in tin caterpillar on Eibenstock’s market square; information boards explain their stories.
The Eibenstock Mining Educational Trail runs through a historic mining landscape. Mining remains and information boards convey the history of mining. The trail is 1.5 kilometres long and takes about one hour.
Experiences
The family bathing area at Badegärten Eibenstock includes a 106-metre-long water slide, a heated outdoor pool and water play facilities for children. There are also themed sauna experiences drawing on Russian, Finnish, Eibenstock beer-bath, Italian, Indian, Japanese and Oriental traditions.
Wurzelrudi’s Fairy-Tale Trail combines fairy-tale houses and wooden figures; QR codes make it possible to listen to or read the stories. The leaflet for Wurzelrudi’s Fairy-Tale Trail contains a map through Eibenstock as well as a small prize competition. Children can take part in donkey trekking; adults lead the animals, and no riding experience is required. The Auersberg Nature and Activity Garden has seven stations with practical tasks and quiz questions.
The Kunsthaus at Kunsthof Eibenstock provides space for concerts, dance, yoga, seminars, lectures, exhibitions and creative courses. The Kunstcafé serves single-origin coffees, chocolate specialities, drinking chocolate, tea and ice cream.
