Guteneck is a municipality in the Schwandorf district of Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, at an elevation of 461 meters above sea level. The town was first mentioned in an official document in 1147. Historically, Guteneck formed a consolidated Hofmark, which was held by the Counts of Kreuth from 1576 onward.
The arcades in the courtyard of Guteneck Castle inspired the three arcade arches depicted in the municipality’s coat of arms.
