In Aschach, the signposted Aschach circular hiking trail follows a 5.5-kilometre loop through the surrounding area. The walking time is approximately 60 minutes; shortcuts are possible.

Hiking
The circular trail can be started at the Donatus Chapel or at the former Bienenhof car park. Other listed parking options include the Aschach fire station, the chapel and the cemetery. The section of the geology trail is suitable for pushchairs; parts of the upper panoramic section are not suitable for them.
The circular hiking trail focuses on the geological history of the area. This includes the former river and shallow-sea landscapes during the transition from the Triassic to the Jurassic period. Fossil remains can be found along the trail.
Culture
The Donatus Chapel stands above Aschach; it is a neo-Gothic chapel dating from 1846–47. It is located at the edge of the forest directly on the Amberg–Schnaittenbach anniversary hiking trail and also serves as a resting place for hikers and pilgrims.
In the immediate surroundings of Aschach are Hinter der Mauer 9 Tower, Hinter der Mauer 17 Tower, Doggenhansl Tower and Hinter der Mauer 19A Tower.
Nature
Heiligen-Berg and Frottenberg are located in the immediate surroundings of Aschach. Laubberg lies in the surrounding area. Kulm is located in the wider regional surroundings of Aschach.
