Culture
The ruins of Abbaye d'Aulps were classified as a historic monument by decree of 6 October 1902. The Domaine de Découverte de la Vallée d'Aulps also showcases the remains of an 11th-century abbey church. A 650 m² interpretation centre is housed in the restored former monastic farm of the Domaine de Découverte de la Vallée d'Aulps.
ABBAYE D’AULPS 3D allows visitors to discover the abbey as it looked between the 16th and 18th centuries. The ABBAYE-D’AULPS-3D experience can be enjoyed with a virtual reality headset or on a digital tablet. During the participatory tour of monastic life, props are used to recreate the gestures and activities of a typical day in a monastic community.
The Chapelle de Graydon was founded in 1859 and completely restored in 2009. During the summer season, it is the venue for a pastoral mass every Wednesday.
Cuisine
Le Clos aux chèvres offers families culinary shepherding hikes during the summer holidays, ending with a tasting of cheeses including AOP Chevrotin.
